Ruipeng Wang

Ruipeng Wang is an artist and researcher at the MIT Media Lab’s Critical Matter group. He holds an M.S. in Fiction and Entertainment from SCI-Arc (2024) and has previously worked with MAD Architects and Jiakun Architects. His artworks and research have been featured internationally, including at SIGGRAPH (Art Paper), NeurIPS Art Present, CultureHub, Shanghai M50, and K11 Museum, with exhibitions and festivals across London, Berlin, Singapore, and Thailand.

Wang's artistic inquiry focuses on a living world of Water, Ripples, and Beings, explored through the lenses of Simulation, Interaction, and Intelligence, where Water acts as the Environment, Beings as the Emergence, and Ripples as the Medium. These themes are developed through interactive systems, responsive materials, and AI installations that investigate the convergence of organic, artificial, and physical realms.

Since 2023, alongside his studio practice, Wang has served as an exhibition director, producing a series of international new media art exhibitions. He is also the founder of Youth Digital Group (YDG), an international artist-led platform that supports emerging practitioners working across art, computation, installations, and interactive media.
