Ruipeng Wang
Ruipeng Wang is a media artist and researcher at the MIT Media Lab.
He holds an M.S. in Fiction and Entertainment from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc, 2024), and previously worked with Jiakun Architects, MAD Architects, Fab-Union, and The Garden in the Machine.
Wang’s artistic inquiry focuses on building a complex, open and dynamic world of Water, Ripples, and Beings, explored through the lenses of Simulation, Interaction, and Intelligence, where Water acts as the Environment, Beings as the Emergence, and Ripples as the Medium. These themes are developed through interactive systems, responsive materials, and AI installations that investigate the convergence of organic, artificial, and physical realms.
Since 2023, alongside his studio practice, Wang has served as an exhibition director, producing a series of international new media art exhibitions. He is also the founder of Youth Digital Group (YDG), an international artist-led platform that supports emerging practitioners working across art, computation, installations, and interactive media.
